Epilepsy Research UK is joining charities across the UK to celebrate the legacy of Captain Sir Thomas Moore by asking our supporters to take part in the Captain Tom 100 Challenge.
Last year, Captain Tom made headlines around the world for raising an incredible £33million for the NHS by walking 100 laps of his garden. But did you know epilepsy costs the NHS £1.5 billion a year? What’s more, only 0.3% of the £4.8 billion spent on health-related research is invested in epilepsy research.
Around 1 in 100 people in the UK have epilepsy. With your help, we can invest more in research to provide help for today and hope for tomorrow for everyone affected by the condition.
You can take on the Captain Tom 100 Challenge anytime between Friday 30 April and Monday 3 May (on what would have been his birthday weekend) and raise money for Epilepsy Research UK your way, as long as the challenge includes the number 100!
