Nicola Nobbs recently completed a Skydive for us. She says,
“My son suffers from Epilepsy, and one Saturday we were all supposed to be going out together as a family but Edward had two seizures just before we were due to leave. I stayed behind with Ed and as we cuddled up on the sofa together a post popped up on my Facebook Newsfeed from ERUK asking people to do a Skydive to raise much needed funds – it was meant to be!! I signed up straight away before I lost my nerve and the rest is history.
Within a few minutes of announcing it on Facebook one of Ed’s old Primary teachers popped up and said she would love to do a jump. I called her bluff and said she could do it with me….. she immediately said Yes! It was nice to have someone else jumping with me on the day and raise even more money for ERUK
I set up a Just Giving page with a target figure of £500, that amount was smashed within a day, (mostly due to the power of Facebook) and to date its looking like I will have raised over £2000. (including gift aid)
It was a wonderful experience and a lovely day, but I was brought down to earth with a great big bump when the day ended with Edward having a seizure in the evening – but thats why I did the jump in the first place and hopefully one day in the future his seizures will be a thing of the past.”
Our thanks go to Nicky and Jenni for supporting us with their jumps.
