Megan Rose tells us why she ran the Leeds 10K for research.
“In 2016 my little sister Libby started having seizures at the age of 15. We had no family history of epilepsy or seizures it turned our world upside down and became a real learning curve for us all !
Living in the Barnsley area a lot of our friends are Barnsley fans and shared on social media that one of their players (at the time) Angus MacDonald was raising money for Epilepsy Research UK for his sister. It was something close to our hearts and as a family we donated to his fundraising page. A few months after this donation, my little sister was diagnosed with epilepsy after I filmed one of her seizures for specialists.
I’ve always wanted to do a charity event so when I saw Leeds 10K advertised I thought why not ? Leeds is my favourite city as I’m a Leeds United fan myself so it really was a no brainer. The event itself was brilliant and I was filled with so much pride that out of the hundreds of charities being represented I could represent ERUK and the incredible research they do to help people like my sister Libby.
Thank you so much again for all your help and support throughout this process from sending the vest to answering my 5 million questions haha ! It’s been such a pleasure raising money for ERUK ”
Well done Megan for raising £580.00 including Gift Aid we really do appreciate your support!
