Barry Kleinberg took on the HSBC Sprint Triathlon on 14 September, raising a fantastic £1,500 for Epilepsy Research UK.

He says, ” Yesterday I climbed my Everest! Over 10 years ago I wanted to enter my first triathlon but decided I was too unfit and too over weight. At 41 years old I decided 7.5 weeks ago to enter my first sprint triathlon. I have lost 10 kilos in the last 6 months.

With only 7.5 weeks to train I lost 2 weeks to injury and changed my estimate of finishing time from 1hr 40mins to anything under 2hrs!

I was very proud to finish the race in 1:37:06! Much of my inspiration came from the knowledge that I was racing for Epilepsy Research UK (my mum has epilepsy) and that many people have been so generous with their sponsorship. It was one of the most memorable days I can remember!

Our thanks go to Barry for such fantastic support!
