Poppy, Beeze and Justin Gaze, along with Milly Gaze in Australia and Poppy’s boyfriend Rian Kealey have been running this year in memory of their nephew and cousin Caspar Gaze. Caspar very sadly died in April 2017 at the age of 22 and the Caspar Gaze Memorial Fund has been set up at Epilepsy Research UK in his memory. The family are split over 2 continents at present so the English Gazes and Rian (whose sister was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 30) ran the Oxford Half Marathon on October 8th, whilst Milly took on the Sydney Marathon on September 17th.Unfortunately, Poppy broke her foot just in advance of the Half Marathon so was unable to take part, but did sterling work cheering on the rest of the team from the sidelines!Through the amazing generosity of friends and family, they have raised a truly phenomenal amount of £22,054.62 just through these two running events alone, which is a wonderful contribution to epilepsy research and testament to Caspar’s memory. Caspar’s family are continuing to support Epilepsy Research UK in their research and funding through his memorial fund. Our sincere thanks go to the Gaze family for all their support and helping others through funding research in Caspar’s memory.
