It’s one of the most important days in our community calendar and a time when people across the world come together to raise epilepsy awareness. PURPLE DAY takes place on FRIDAY 26TH MARCH and, as with last year’s event at the start of the COVID-19 lockdown, this year will be mostly virtual.

So, here at Epilepsy Research UK, we thought we’d try something completely different to mark the day…

PURR-PLE DAY PETS*!
*Pets may be substituted with willing family members, partners or friends.

It’s been a big year for pets on Zoom, so we thought why not give them centre stage this Purple Day? Whether it’s a sweater for your setter, a cap for your cat, or a coat for your goat, dress up your beloved pets in purple from now until 26th March and help us raise vital funds for research!

Share your photos with the hashtag #PurrpleDayPets (don’t forget to tag us!) and ask your friends and family to donate via our website or our Purple Day Facebook Fundraiser. We’ll be sharing the most pawsome pet pics we receive and whoever takes our favourite photo will be sent an Epilepsy Research UK goodie bag!

OTHER WAYS TO SUPPORT RESEARCH THIS PURPLE DAY

If going purple isn’t your thing, there are many other ways to support research into epilepsy; from setting up a regular gift on our website, to creating your own Facebook fundraiser, or signing up to a sporting event. Our dedicated fundraising team are always happy to have a chat if you have any questions or need any inspiration.

Thank you for being part of this powerful community working together to achieve a life free from epilepsy. And thank you fur reading!😉

RESEARCH ROUNDTABLE: EPILEPSY AND GENETICS

Also taking place this Purple Day at 11am will be another live Research Roundtable webinar, this time on epilepsy and genetics. We’ll be hearing from the experts about revolutionary new treatments that can update our genetic code to treat the causes of epilepsy, and how identifying genes linked to the condition could improve diagnosis.
