It is estimated that up to 40% of people with epilepsy are also autistic.
Yet people on the autism spectrum have been systematically excluded from epilepsy research for decades, so very little is understood about why epilepsy is so common in this group and how autistic people’s seizures should be treated.
That’s why we partnered with the UK’s autism research charity Autistica to co-fund the Epilepsy Research UK & Autistica Fellowship Award. Read more about this exciting collaboration below.
