As National Epilepsy Week 2022 draws to a close, today we’re looking back over a fantastic week which included funding 10 new research projects, sharing the #BigMoments in the lives of people with epilepsy made possible by research, and the launch of our #Every1EndingEpilepsy programme.

We can only continue to drive and enable vital research thanks to the generosity of our supporters. Please consider making a donation to help STOP epilepsy interrupting lives this #EpilepsyWeek. Thank you.

Our first-ever Shape Network Live conference at the Crick covered a range of fascinating topics from the research process to Big Data.

Never has anyone kept my attention when talking maths… Professor John Terry just has with his talk on mathematically modelling the brain!

Awards Ceremony & Reception, The Francis Crick Institute

The event was a true celebration of epilepsy research and the incredible efforts of our supporters.

Last night’s Epilepsy Research UK awards were quite unlike any such event I’ve been to before, by turns moving, invigorating, daunting, and informative.

#Every1EndingEpilepsy

A new programme lead by Epilepsy Research UK that will radically advance research and call on government to commit to £100 for every 1 in 100 living with epilepsy in the UK.

If you can watch the full 8 mins, it’s well worth it. But the take home points are: how underfunded epilepsy is compared to other conditions, that it’s never ‘just’ epilepsy, and that a staggering 21 people die each week from epilepsy related causes.
