Toni Joanne Hodges was only 37 when she passed away on 13th September 2020 after suffering a seizure and never regaining consciousness. Her seizures, although well under control, could be triggered by excess stress. She was a bright, kind, generous, caring and loving girl, with a stunning smile that lit up every room she entered. She realised her ambition of becoming a flight attendant for Virgin Atlantic and had a wonderful career flying with them for 14 years. During her time there she took a sabbatical to work a ski season in Les Arcs, France and then joined the lead boat on a flotilla sailing around the Greek islands. After leaving Virgin she worked and lived in the Caribbean for a year before returning home and joining a private holiday company as executive cabin crew. Travel was in her blood!
She had lived with her condition for about 25 years but never let it stop her from achieving her dreams. She cared about people from all walks of life and entered into many charity events to raise money and awareness for deserving causes. She also volunteered for the Samaritans and with our local council during lockdown delivering prescriptions to those that were shielding. Her life was so full and she wasn’t done just yet! She will be sadly missed by everyone that knew her.
