Sue Higgins sadly passed away on 18 March 2020 aged 58. Sue was a funny, caring and compassionate woman. She embraced life fully and never let her illness define her.
Unfortunately Sue was affected by epilepsy in her personal life but always downplayed its impact. In her professional life she worked tirelessly for many years as an epilepsy specialist nurse and strove to improve outcomes for all her patients. She was much loved and respected by colleagues and patients alike.
Since retiring Sue had embraced her passion for travel with a vengeance and certainly had accomplished much of her bucket list. She was always planning her next adventure. She also loved the theatre and arts and we spent many a happy afternoon enjoying the latest musical. She was in addition a fan of Zumba despite her lack of balance which resulted in a few bumps!
Sue was a fabulous friend with a true heart and a zest for life with a lovely sense of humour. She is sadly missed by all who knew her.
I think she would be happy to think that funds could be raised towards epilepsy research which was such an important cause so close to her heart.
