Epilepsy Research UK has extended the deadline for Doctoral Training Centre Grant applications until 4pm on Thursday 21st January in response to the impact on both clinical and basic researchers as a result of the COVID-19 epidemic.

The ERUK Doctoral Training Centre (DTC) Grant aims to support the development of the next generation of epilepsy researchers and help to capacity build less established epilepsy research groups. The grant will support up to 6 PhD students to investigate the causes, diagnosis or treatment of epilepsy and associated conditions. The aim of the DTCs will be to act as ‘PhD hubs’ that will facilitate further research and investment and directly contribute to life changing, life saving research.

We are inviting applications from individual research institutes but also encouraging collaborations across two or more institutes. ERUK will offer a grant of £250,000 per hub which will need to be match funded by the host university.

This investment would have a substantial impact for less established epilepsy research groups and provide the PhD students with the opportunity to acquire news skills, knowledge and, ultimately, become leaders in epilepsy research.
