As we attempt to navigate the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, we are mindful of the significant pressures being felt across the breadth of the UK’s research community.
We appreciate that research carried out by our grant holders may currently be suspended leading to concerns about meeting timescales. Epilepsy Research UK is committed to ensuring all funded research continues. We have taken the decision to support costed and no-cost extensions for projects that are impacted and have set aside a designated fund for this purpose. All applications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by the ERUK Scientific Advisory Committee and any decisions relating to additional funding will be ratified by the Board of Trustees.
Given the likelihood of an adverse financial impact on the charity’s fundraising income resulting from the cancellation of mass participation events, this represents a significant commitment from the ERUK Board.
We are doing everything we can to ensure the research continues and will continue to share updates and information about our work to keep our researchers and supporters informed.
