The British 10K London Run took place on Sunday 10th July 2016 and what an incredible day for Epilepsy Research UK.The day began early, but the start line didn’t stay empty for long! Thousands of runners were soon lining up to run the streets of London, including several hundred who were flying the flag for Epilepsy Research UK.We were thrilled to be the official charity for this event, it was such a wonderful opportunity. Jo Finnerty, Events Fundraiser says, “To see so many green ERUK vests out there on Sunday was truly amazing! This was by far our biggest ever running event and to have hundreds of runners out there on the day all supporting us was just fantastic. Thank you so much Team ERUK – you certainly did us proud!”A steel band were playing opposite our designated cheering point and the atmosphere was electric and so much fun! We are of course hugely grateful for all of our cheering volunteers who came along to help cheer and carry our runners along to the finish. The ERUK presence on Sunday made a big impression and it was wonderful to see epilepsy take the spotlight! This event has enabled us to spread awareness of the condition and of course, raise much needed funds for our research. Here is John Greenaway being interviewed at the start of the race:[youtube id=”XEhm5sGP0n4″ align=”center” mode=”normal” autoplay=”no” parameters=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEhm5sGP0n4&feature=youtu.be”]Team ERUK we are so thankful for all your commitment and support and thank you all so much for making the day so special!
